What a Layton Studio Maternity Session Feels Like
My studio is intentionally simple: bright, neutral, and designed to keep the focus on you. I’ll guide you into flattering poses, help with outfit flow, and keep the vibe relaxed (music included). The studio is small but set up for comfort — with a private bathroom for changing and seating for a partner or family member.
Best for: clean, editorial portraits + predictable lighting (great in winter or windy days).
Outfits: plan for 2–3 looks (dress, bodysuit, and a cozy knit is a perfect mix).
Timing: most moms love scheduling around 28–34 weeks for a defined bump + comfort.

When should I schedule my maternity photos?
Most clients book maternity photos between 28–34 weeks, when the bump is beautifully round and you’re still comfortable. I recommend reaching out early so we can reserve the best timing for your session.
What should I wear?
Neutrals, soft tones, fitted knits, and flowy dresses photograph beautifully for maternity portraits. I recommend avoiding neon colors, busy patterns, and large logos. I’m happy to help with outfit guidance before your session.
Can my partner or children join?
Absolutely. Partners and children are welcome at maternity sessions. We’ll capture a mix of solo maternity portraits, couple images, and family photos so the session feels meaningful and complete.
Where do maternity sessions take place?
Maternity sessions can take place in my downtown Ogden studio or at an outdoor location throughout Northern Utah, including Ogden, Davis County, Weber County, Salt Lake City, Logan, and Utah County.
How many photos are included and when do I get them?
You’ll receive all the best images, hand-edited in my true-to-color style and delivered in an online gallery within 2–3 weeks. You’ll have download rights and can order optional professional prints from your gallery.
How do I reserve my date?
A signed contract and non-refundable retainer are required to reserve your maternity session date. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
What if the weather is bad for outdoor sessions?
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll reschedule or switch to a studio or covered location when possible. Utah weather changes quickly, so I’ll keep you updated and make the process easy.
