Maternity Sessions

I have absolutely fallen in love with maternity sessions lately! I have had three maternity sessions alone this week :) Here are a couple shots from the last two sessions.

Family Sessions!

This weekend was all about family! We battled the heat,  laugh over a toddler with a mind of his own, and even saw an alligator :) I love photographing families and their interaction together - whether good or bad! haha!

Senior Reps Take Two

So I have to admit that I have never done senior sessions at Avery Island - Jungle Gardens. I have basically been there for every type of session except seniors so I was a little nervous about how it would go.  But I really do have some amazing clients...! They make my sessions so fun and enjoyable and the finished edit shows that! Both Brianna and Madison were great models and we truly had a blast even if an alligator scared us, grasshoppers the size of Texas appeared everywhere, spiders  came out of nowhere, and not to mention the falling gigantic acorns that were raining down around us.  This photographer and creepy crawly things don't mix!

A rainbow maternity session

A rainbow baby is a baby born shortly after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death in infancy. This term is given to these special rainbow babies because a rainbow typically follows a storm, giving us hope of what’s to come. Having a baby after losing a baby can bring about a whole lot of emotions for the mother. For Mona, she just simply wanted to include her daughter Haven Grace in her maternity session. Haven was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 at 23 weeks gestation. Her parents were given options and ultimately they chose to carry their daughter to term and spend whatever amount of time they had by making memories with Haven. Haven Grace Bowdoin lived 13 days and passed away on July 14, 2016. Mona is now pregnant and having a baby boy in August of 2017. This baby is a new hope and a new beginning for their family but Haven Grace still holds a very special place in their hearts and she will continue to live on in their memories.

Senior Reps take one!

So last week was round one of my Senior rep sessions. We went out to an old mill in New Iberia which made for  a great backdrop! The weather was so spotty though. It rained off and on for my first session and then got really hot and humid during the second session. My poor daughter (my little assistant) gotten badly bitten by mosquitoes.  My first model Karla love being in front of the camera. There wasn't much I told her that she didn't already know how to do. My second model, Sierra, was more reserved and took a little while for her to break out of her shell. I couldn't have asked for better models for this session - well just see for yourselves!
