  • Baby-only portraits
  • Use of wraps, blankets, and simple props from my studio collection
  • A calm, warm studio environment designed specifically for newborns

Who Can Attend

Newborn mini sessions are baby-only sessions, which means the photographs will focus exclusively on your newborn.

Parents are welcome to attend and remain in the studio during the session, but parent and sibling photos are not included.

For the comfort and safety of newborns in the studio, only the baby’s parents may attend the session. No siblings, grandparents, friends, or additional guests are permitted in the studio. Keeping the space quiet and limited to parents helps babies stay calm and sleepy during their session.

Best Age for Photos

The ideal time for newborn photos is when baby is between 5–14 days old. During this stage, babies are typically sleepier, easier to settle, and more comfortable being gently posed. If your baby is slightly older, we can still create beautiful images.

Feeding Before the Session

Please plan to arrive with baby fully fed.

Because mini sessions are strictly one hour, we do need to stay on schedule. If feeding is needed during the session, that time will come out of the one-hour session time and will reduce the time available for photos.

A full belly helps baby stay sleepy and content, which allows us to capture the most images possible during your session.

Best option: arrive early, park, and feed your baby in the car before coming into the studio. This helps ensure baby arrives full, calm, and ready to settle so we can begin photographing right away.

How to Prepare Baby

Keep Baby Awake Before the Session

If possible, try to keep your baby awake for about 60–90 minutes before arriving. A bath, diaper change, or a little stimulation beforehand can help baby fall into a deeper sleep once the session begins.

Dress Baby in Loose Clothing

Please bring baby dressed in a loose sleeper or zip-up onesie. Avoid tight clothing, socks, or anything that may leave marks on the skin. All wraps and outfits used during the session will be provided by the studio.

Studio Environment

The studio is kept very warm to keep newborns comfortable and sleepy. Parents may want to wear light clothing, as it can feel warm inside the studio.

White noise is often used to help soothe baby and create a calm environment throughout the session.

Safety First

Your baby’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. All posing is done slowly and gently while following baby’s cues. If baby needs soothing or a quick pause, comfort always comes first.
