Getting out of the house with a newborn is a lot, especially when you have other kids to get ready, too. If you’d rather stay home for your newborn photos, I can come to you.
I’m Leah, and I photograph in-home newborn sessions throughout Northern Utah. These sessions include photos of your baby on their own, photos with parents and siblings, and pets if you’d like them included. I’ll help with posing and finding the best spots for photos, with time for feeding, diaper changes, and breaks.

What Are In-Home Newborn Sessions Like?
We’ll use a few areas of your home, usually a bedroom, living room, or nursery, depending on the light. I take a mix of family photos and posed photos of your baby. You’ll have direction throughout the session, so you don’t need to figure out where to stand or what to do.
One of the biggest benefits is having everything nearby. You don’t have to pack extra outfits, bottles, diapers, and everything else you might need for a few hours away.
Newborn Photos With Your Toddler and Pets
During this session, we took photos of the family together on their bed, including their toddler and both dogs. We also photographed the parents holding their newborn while their older child played nearby.
Your older kids don’t need to sit through the entire session. We’ll take sibling and family photos, and they can play or take breaks when they need to.
If you’d like your pets included, tell me beforehand so we can plan for them, too. An adult will need to help with them during their photos.
Yes, I Take Posed Newborn Photos at Home, Too
An in-home session includes more than photos of everyone together. I also take posed portraits of your baby on their own, like these from the same session.
We’ll have time for wrapped baby photos and close-ups along with your family pictures. You can have both without packing everyone up for a trip to the studio.

An In-Home Newborn Session in Salt Lake City
Sonora’s newborn photos were taken in her family’s small downtown Salt Lake City home. I started with posed photos of her while her parents finished getting ready. Then we used the nursery and a window near the upstairs living room for family photos. Their cats joined in, too.

You Don’t Need a Perfect House
You don’t need a large home, a finished nursery, or every room cleaned before I arrive. We’ll work in a few spots with the best available light. Clearing off a nightstand or moving a few things out of the background is usually more helpful than cleaning the whole house.
If you’re unsure about your space or lighting, send me a few photos beforehand and we can talk through it.

When should I book my in-home newborn session?
You can book during pregnancy so we can reserve a session window around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we’ll coordinate the date. If your baby is already here, send me their age and your city and I’ll check availability.
Does my home need to be spotless or have a large nursery?
No. We’ll use a few areas with the best available light, usually a bedroom, living room, or nursery. You don’t need to prepare the whole house.
Are parents, siblings, and pets included?
Yes. Parents and siblings are included, and pets are welcome. Your older kids can take breaks or play when we’re finished with their photos.
Do you take posed newborn photos at home?
Yes. I take posed photos of your baby on their own as well as photos with your family. The wrapped newborn portraits shown on this page were taken during the same in-home session as the family photos.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothing in neutral or muted colors works well. Avoid large logos and busy patterns. You’re welcome to send me outfit options if you’d like help choosing.
How long does the session last?
Plan for about 2–3 hours, including time for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and breaks.
Do I purchase digital images separately?
No. All professionally edited, high-resolution images are included in your online gallery. You won’t need to choose a certain number or purchase them individually.
When will I receive my photographs?
Your edited gallery will be ready in approximately 2–3 weeks.
Where do you offer in-home newborn photography?
I offer in-home newborn sessions throughout Weber, Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah counties, with Logan sessions also available. Send me your city so I can confirm availability and any travel fees.
What if my baby needs to eat or won’t settle?
We’ll take breaks as needed. Feeding, changing, and soothing are all part of a newborn session, which is why we allow 2–3 hours.
