What to Expect

  • Senior sessions are relaxed and personal—we’ll capture natural expressions, real laughter, and personality.
  • Each session lasts about 60 minutes with time for outfit changes and location variety.
  • I’ll guide posing and direction throughout—no need to know what to do with your hands!
  • Parents are welcome to join for part of the session, but we’ll also do solo shots to let your senior shine.

What to Wear

Outfits can completely change the feel of your photos. Choose pieces that feel like you but photograph clean and timeless.

  • Plan 2–4 outfits: casual, dressy, and something that shows your personality (sports, band, creative style, etc.).
  • Stick to solid colors or small patterns—avoid large logos, writing, or neon tones.
  • Layering adds dimension (jackets, cardigans, hats).
  • Make sure clothes fit well, iron or steam wrinkles, and bring backups just in case.

Tip: Try on your outfits and move around—if you feel confident and comfortable, you’ll look it too!

Location & Props

  • Choose a location that fits your vibe—studio, city streets, fields, mountain backdrops, or a mix.
  • If we’re outdoors, plan around golden hour (1–2 hours before sunset) for soft, flattering light.
  • Bring items that tell your story—sports gear, instruments, letterman jacket, cap & gown, or something creative.
  • Remove everything from pockets (phones, keys, etc.) before we start shooting.

Hair, Makeup & Grooming

  • Keep hair natural and styled how you like it most—it should feel “you.”
  • Bring a brush or comb, powder for shine, and chapstick.
  • Hands and nails show in close-ups—trim or paint nails neatly.
  • If you wear makeup, blend well at the jawline and avoid SPF-heavy foundation (it can flash white in photos).
  • For guys: a clean shave or neatly trimmed beard photographs best. Bring hair gel or a brush for touch-ups.

For Parents

Senior photos are a big milestone! To help everything go smoothly:

  • Encourage your senior to bring items that represent them—but keep it simple to allow variety in posing.
  • Plan outfits together, but let them make final choices—it shows best in their confidence.
  • Feel free to join for a few behind-the-scenes shots or to help with outfit changes, then step back so they relax on camera.

Day-Of Checklist

  • Pack outfits (on hangers), shoes, and accessories.
  • Bring touch-up items: brush, powder, chapstick, lint roller.
  • Eat before your session—energy shows in your photos!
  • Clean nails and remove hair ties from wrists.
  • Drink water and get plenty of rest the night before.

Don’t stress! This session is all about celebrating who you are—just come ready to have fun and be yourself.
