The gardens are full of colorful blooms, walking paths, water features, open lawns, bridges, and tucked-away corners that work beautifully for family photos, maternity photos, senior portraits, and spring mini sessions.

Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point is located in Lehi, Utah and features 50 acres of gardens, walking paths, water features, and seasonal displays. Walking the Gardens for the Best Photo Spots

For these spring mini sessions, I photographed three families and we walked through the gardens to find the best light, colors, and backgrounds. One of my favorite areas is right in the middle of Ashton Gardens, near two bridges with a stream running between them. It gives such a pretty mix of flowers, greenery, water, and soft garden scenery without feeling overly posed.

Since we went later in the Tulip Festival season, the crowds were not as bad, which made it easier to move around, take our time, and find quieter spots for family portraits.

Thanksgiving Point requires a professional photography pass for professional photo sessions at Ashton Gardens. Admission is also required and is separate from the photography pass.
