Studio or outdoor maternity photos near Davis County?

Both options create a different look, and neither requires you to know how to pose. The best choice depends on the style you want, the season and how much variety you would like in your session.

Downtown Ogden Studio

Studio Maternity Photography

My maternity studio is located in downtown Ogden, a short trip north for many Davis County families. Studio sessions are ideal for clean, editorial portraits, predictable lighting and multiple outfit changes regardless of the weather.

The studio gives us control over lighting and background so we can create everything from soft neutral portraits to more dramatic maternity images.

Davis County + Northern Utah

Outdoor Maternity Photography

Outdoor sessions are available throughout Davis County and Northern Utah for families who prefer natural scenery, open fields, trees, foothills and seasonal color.

I plan outdoor sessions around the light and season and will help you choose a location that fits the look you're drawn to.

When should you schedule maternity photos?

Most maternity clients schedule their session between about 28 and 34 weeks. This usually gives you a defined baby bump while still leaving enough flexibility to move comfortably through several poses and outfit changes.

I recommend reaching out before that window whenever possible so we have more flexibility with your preferred date, outdoor location and studio availability.

What should you wear for maternity photos?

You don't need to purchase an elaborate wardrobe. Fitted dresses, soft knits, flowing fabrics, simple bodysuits and neutral pieces can all photograph beautifully depending on the style you want.

For a one-hour session, you can plan for up to three looks. I can also help you coordinate your partner and children so everyone's clothing works together without matching exactly.

You don't have to know how to pose.

I'll guide you through hand placement, posture, body angles and expression throughout the session. If it's easier to understand a pose by seeing it, I'll demonstrate it for you rather than leaving you to figure it out.
