Leah Louviere Photography · Ogden & Northern Utah

A quick look at my newborn photography prices: newborn mini sessions are $315, full studio sessions are $535, in-home sessions are $650, and Fresh 48 sessions are $300. The right choice depends on who you want included, the photographs you love, and where you feel most comfortable.

Soft colors and simple styling keep the attention on your baby.

You’re getting ready to welcome your baby, and somewhere between choosing a car seat and washing those tiny clothes, you start thinking about newborn photos. You want to remember the little fingers, sleepy stretches, and the way your baby fits in your arms. Then comes a practical question: how much does newborn photography cost, and what does that price actually include?

If you’re comparing newborn photography prices in Ogden, Utah, you’ll probably notice that packages can look different. One session might focus on baby, while another includes parents and siblings. Some photographers include digital images in the session price, while others offer them separately. Understanding those details helps you choose an experience that fits your family, your budget, and the photographs you hope to have.

I’m Leah Louviere, a Northern Utah newborn photographer with a studio in downtown Ogden. I also offer in-home newborn photography for families who would rather stay in their own space. After more than ten years photographing families, I know that choosing a newborn session involves more than comparing a number. You’re also deciding how much time you need, who you want in the photos, and whether studio portraits or relaxed photographs at home feel right for you.

My newborn photography packages offer several starting points. A newborn mini session is $315 and includes one hour, two setups, and ten edited images of baby only. A full studio newborn session is $535, with approximately two to three hours, parent and sibling photographs, and the professionally edited gallery included. In-home newborn sessions are $650 and include immediate family, a relaxed session in your home, and the professionally edited gallery. Fresh 48 sessions are $300 and document those first moments together at the hospital or birth center.

The best fit depends on what matters most to you. If you want a small collection of baby portraits, a mini session may be enough. If you’re hoping for posed newborn photographs alongside images of your family together, a full studio session gives us more time. If getting everyone out the door feels overwhelming, an in-home session lets your nursery, familiar surroundings, and everyday family connection become part of the story.

Just as important is knowing what happens during your session. Newborns need feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and breaks. Full sessions allow time for those needs, and I guide parents through the photographs so you don’t have to arrive knowing how to pose. You also deserve clarity about image delivery, what is included, and how booking works before you reserve a date.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through newborn photography pricing, explain the differences between my session options, and answer the questions parents ask before booking. Whether you’re expecting your first baby or welcoming another one, the goal is to help you choose confidently. You can explore the examples, compare what’s included, and reach out with your due date or baby’s birth date when you’re ready to check availability for your Ogden or Northern Utah newborn photography session with me.

What is included in your newborn session price?

Your session includes the experience of being guided through the photographs, followed by professional editing and an online gallery. Full studio and in-home sessions give us time for feeding, diaper changes and soothing.

  • Preparation guidance: information about what to expect, what to bring and how to plan your family’s clothing.
  • Gentle direction: guidance for parent and family photographs so you know where to stand and how to hold your baby comfortably.
  • Studio supplies: wraps, blankets, outfits and simple newborn props are provided for studio sessions.
  • Professional editing: finished photographs delivered through a private online gallery, typically within two to three weeks.
  • Included digital images: ten edited images for a mini session, and the professionally edited gallery for full studio and in-home sessions.

Full studio and in-home galleries are included in the package rather than requiring you to purchase each digital image separately. You can see examples and current details on my Utah newborn photography page.

Studio vs. in-home newborn photography: how to choose

Think about where you will feel most comfortable and the photographs you want to look back on. Both options follow your baby’s needs, with time to pause when necessary.

Choose the studio if…

You love posed newborn portraits, neutral backdrops and a variety of wraps and simple setups. My studio is at 175 25th St in downtown Ogden.

Parents and siblings are included in full sessions. The studio is limited to two adults; siblings should leave with another adult after their photographs so the remaining session stays calm.

Choose an in-home session if…

You want your home, nursery and family routines to be part of the photographs. Staying home can also make breaks easier for older children, and pets can be included when it is safe to do so.

You don’t need a perfectly decorated house. I look for suitable light and guide you through photographs in a few comfortable spaces.

How to compare newborn photography prices and packages

When comparing photographers, look at what the total price gives you. A session fee, a baby-only package and a family session with digital images can represent very different experiences.

  • Included images: is there a fixed number, an included gallery, or a separate purchase after the session?
  • Family participation: will parents and siblings be photographed, or is the session for baby only?
  • Time and location: does the package allow for the photographs you want and the practical needs of your family?
  • Photographic style: do you prefer posed studio portraits, natural family moments at home, or hospital storytelling?
  • Additional costs: ask about travel, rental studios and optional purchases before reserving.

The most useful comparison is between packages that include the photographs and experience you actually want.

When should you book your Ogden newborn session?

Reach out while you are still pregnant whenever possible. Your due date gives us a starting point, and we adjust the actual session date after your baby arrives.

If your baby is already here, you are welcome to ask about availability. Older newborns may have more awake expressions or need different setups, and we can discuss what will work for your baby.

A signed contract and non-refundable retainer reserve your session window. I’ll explain the booking details before you commit so you know what to expect.

Newborn photography pricing FAQs

Are digital images included in the price?

Yes. Newborn mini sessions include ten edited images. Full studio and in-home sessions include the professionally edited gallery, delivered online. Fresh 48 sessions also include a professionally edited gallery.

Can parents and siblings be included?

Yes, in full studio, in-home and Fresh 48 sessions. Newborn mini sessions are baby only. For studio family photographs, I’ll help you plan sibling arrival and departure so the space stays comfortable.

Is a newborn mini session enough for family photographs?

A mini session is designed for baby only, with two setups and ten edited images. Choose a full studio or in-home session if you want parent and sibling photographs as well.

What if my newborn stays awake or needs frequent feeding breaks?

Feeding, changing and soothing are expected parts of a newborn session. Full sessions allow time for those needs, and I adapt the photographs to your baby rather than requiring a particular pose or sleep schedule.

How long does gallery delivery take?

Newborn galleries are typically delivered within approximately two to three weeks through a private online gallery.

Can I book if my baby has already arrived?

Yes, please reach out with your baby’s birth date, your city and your preferred session type. I’ll let you know what availability I have and help you decide which option fits.
