Nathan’s Bonneville Salt Flats Senior Session
A bucket-list senior shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Summer of 2025— planned months in advance for a Florida family trip through Utah. Nathan brought his girlfriend too, so we captured a mix of classic senior portraits and a few sweet shots of the two of them together.

A Florida Family Trip + A Bucket-List Salt Flats Shoot
Nathan and his family traveled in from Florida and built a full Utah adventure around the trip. The Bonneville Salt Flats were at the top of their list, and they booked their session months ahead of time so they could plan around the best season and light.
We kept the session relaxed and easy — classic senior portraits for Nathan, a few shots with his girlfriend, and then (my favorite) a quick group photo at the end so everyone had something to remember the day. Those “we were here” photos always end up being priceless.
Planning a Senior Session at the Bonneville Salt Flats
If you’re traveling from out of state (like Nathan’s family did), here’s what makes the experience smooth: timing, conditions, and a flexible backup plan.
Best time of day
Sunset is my favorite for Salt Flats seniors — softer light, more dimension, and a more “cinematic” look. Sunrise can be incredible too if you want fewer people and a quieter experience.
Conditions at the Salt Flats
The flats can be dry, crunchy, or reflective depending on the season and recent weather. I’ll help you plan wardrobe + footwear so you’re comfortable (and your photos look clean).
Backup plan for weather
If you’re traveling, I recommend scheduling two possible days. I block off both as a backup, so we can pivot if the weather changes.
